Working Towards a Better Tomorrow
Scotland has a population of 5,404,700 of those, 1 in 4 are living with a mental health condition, that totals 1,351,175 Scottish people. The majority of these people are sitting on long waiting lists waiting for help, are being turned away or are just too scared to ask.
In February 2016, I started research into mental health services in Scotland and was shocked to find that many health boards are failing to meet the targets set by the Scottish government. Through an online survey, many of those who completed it stated they waited longer than 6 months, most of them waited over 1 year. This is totally unacceptable.
June 2016 and my petition was officially opened for public signature. After 2 months it gained 270 signatures, for which I am very grateful. The petition was referred on to the Health and Sports Committee and was used in their recent inquiries into mental health and in Sir Harry Burns; review of target times.
The petition is still open and I am waiting to find out what happens next but they have failed to answer my questions about community based mental health services.

This page is for spreading the word and for pressuring the Scottish Government into doing the right thing once and for all.
